Project 365 2017 #25

Week 25 of Project 365 2017 and almost halfway through the year - but a bit closer to the summer holiday!

Project 365 2017 day 175 - Cottage dreaming // 76sunflowers

Day 169
Father's Day and bit of an odd one. I ended the day off making the husband a cooked breakfast type mish mash for dinner - all vegan and it was enjoyed!
Day 170
Yoga teaching day and it was a hot one! We chilled out for a bit in the home ed group making little yoga people from pipe cleaners.
Day 171
The hot weather continued and today was my first of two days teaching yoga to a total of about 450 children. I also met the amazing Stephanie Millward and got my hands on one of her Olympic Gold medals!
Day 172
The second day of yoga teaching and we were absolutely melting outside under the sun - it was a great two days though.
Day 173
I got home from work early for a Thursday today and the in laws stayed on with the kiddos so I could whizz out for a 4 mile run to the village and back.
Day 174
I'm trying to keep up the fitness levels, and shed a few sneaky pounds that have crept on despite all the miles I'm running - must be the extra chocolate and carbs! - so I did a session with Jillian Michaels. I think I would rather run!
Day 175
A busy day of yoga teaching, a 7 mile run and a trip into Bath with the girl. My run took me into a field and past a lovely situated cottage - I dream of being in a cottage one day.

Project 365 2017 #24

Week 24 of Project 365 2017 and I'm starting to count the days, and the hours in the days, until the end of term. I'm hoping the sunshine isn't all getting used up now before we break up at the end of July!

Project 365 2017 day 162 Plod // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 163 - Yoga pompoms // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 164 - 14 mile run // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 165 - Patio flowers // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 166 - Yoga sky // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 167 - 5 mile run // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 168 - Yoga magic // 76sunflowers

Day 162
A lazy Sunday morning, as per usual, then a 3.5 mile plod this afternoon which saw my run broken up into three parts; a warm up mile with the boy before running him back to the front door, a mile and a bit around the village - where I bumped into someone I haven't seen for ages who has recently lost his wife so stopped for a hug and a chat and a few tears, then a faster, grateful to be alive, mile and a bit on the slight downhill back home.
Day 163
Yoga teaching Monday included some more bear hunting and mindfulness pompoms.
Day 164
Long run Tuesday and I'm happy to say I ran the furthest I have ever run with a lovely 14 miles with my buddy along pavements and off-road paths. We stopped to say hello to the cows en route.
Day 165
Wednesday was a bit of a 'back to work black cloud over my head' day so I took a picture of the husband's patio flowers to try and cheer myself up.
Day 166
Yoga class tonight, and a better day at work, helped to lift the blues. The yoga sky was looking beautiful again.
Day 167
It was a hot day but I needed to run so I waited until the husband was home, and waited a little bit more for the temperature to drop, and set off on a pleasantly paced 5 miles round the villages.
Day 168
Yoga teaching this morning and some of the children went on a magical adventure with a glittery savasana to finish off.

Project 365 2017 #23

Week 23 of Project 365 2017 and it was back to routine and the tiredness of work and school.

Project 365 2017 day 155 - Weeding the veggie plot // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 156 - Coleslaw and nutritional yeast // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 157 - 10 mile run // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 158 - Vegan menu // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 159 - Polling station // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 160 - 4 mile run // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 161 - Children's yoga // 76sunflowers

Day 155
Instead of Sunday being a lazy day I turned it into a productive day and tackled the veggie plot at the end of the garden that needed a serious weeding job - a few hours later and it was looking better.
Day 156
No school for the kiddos today so we turned Monday into our lazy day! We watched Maleficient, ate popcorn and the only picture I took was of my tea - pasta and homemade coleslaw with a huge sprinkling of nutritonal yeast.
Day 157
The kiddos were back to school today and it was time to concentrate on some longer runs today. I was so glad my running buddy was with me today on a sunny and annoyingly windy 10 miler - if I was on my own I probably would have cut it short! The leg wasn't perfect but I made it back to double figures.
Day 158
Back to work was a bit of a shock to the system and straight into a long week of meetings, moderation and obviously teaching. This evening, to break up the long day and evening, I grabbed some dinner in town with my colleagues and was very happy to find a great vegan menu.
Day 159
I didn't sleep much last night due to worrying about work so was super tired by the time I dragged myself to the polling station. Unfortunately it made no difference as our MP remains the same.
Day 160
I had to talk myself into a run tonight and dragged myself around the villages for 4 miles.
Day 161
Back to yoga teaching this morning and it was so lovely to welcome back my young yogis to some lovely classes filled with bear hunting and laughing. No bears were harmed - just cuddled tightly.

Project 365 2017 #22

Week 22 of Project 365 2017 and the weather couldn't make its mind up from wet to sun to wet to sun again.

Project 365 2017 day 148 - Sunday 10k // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 149 - Wet Bank Holiday Monday // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 150 - Fields // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 151 - Glastonbury Graffiti // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 152 - Yoga sky // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 153 - Happy run // 76sunflowers
Project 365 2017 day 154 - Corsham // 76sunflowers

Day 148
I dragged myself out on a 10k before the husband went to work. Butt and hamstring issue made my left leg feel like concrete so have decided to book myself a sports massage.
Day 149
Bank Holiday Monday so obviously it poured with rain. I was actually glad as it meant I could get on with writing school reports without feeling I've wasted a lovely day. I had to get up after every third one and have a walk around and stretch as sitting is really hurting my butt and leg! I don't know how people cope with sedentary office jobs.
Day 150
The girl had a friend come over to play and mum stayed so the grown ups could have a catch up. It also meant I could nip out for a sports massage. I have a gnarly bit in my piriformis so lots of stretching, ball rolling, foam rolling, squats and yoga but no long distances - I'm meant to be doing 11 miles on Thursday. I took the kiddos for a walk across the fields late afternoon whilst our tea cooked as I needed to stretch my legs as I was told not to run my planned 5k tonight - not sure how I'm going to cope with this.
Day 151
A lovely sunny day today and the husband headed off to work early so no sneaky test run for me first thing. I packed a lunch and drove the kiddos down to Glastonbury - driving is not so good for my piriformis and I was not a happy bunny for the first 30 minutes before it eased off. We parked up in town, climbed up the Tor, spotted some new graffiti and had a lovely ramble around the shops where I stocked up on incense and got the husband a birthday pressie. Tonight I went for a 5k and ended up in tears and self doubt as the leg was so heavy I have told myself the marathon is way out of reach.
Day 152
Today was one of those lazy days where I can't actually remember what we did! Tonight was yoga which was immense as everything hit my tight spots just nicely. The yoga sky was looking lush too.
Day 153
I woke up feeling a bit more positive today realising there are more important things to get upset about. We walked into town to pick up a few things, got wet in the rain coming home, had a late lunch and the kiddos occupied themselves with friends and YouTube and I finished the last few reports. The husband came home early so I tentatively laced up my running shoes and it actually felt pretty good; not perfect but ok - I managed 5 miles but the leg was tired at the end.
Day 154
It was no plan Saturday today; no yoga classes and no real desire to do anything. We headed to the local town of Corsham where I popped into the health shop to top up on tea, vegan cheese and nutritional yeast then back home after lunch I spent a few hours making headway on the garden - which is a forever losing battle.
