Growing up with Camp Bestival {Camp Bestival 2014}

This summer sees our fifth trip down to Lulworth to experience Camp Bestival.
The children love it, the adults love it.
Year on year the festival develops and grows and I just love to see the changes in my children too.
It has helped with their confidence, their independence, their life skills... - I am sure they could put the tent up without me this year.
But, importantly to me, it has provided everlasting memories.

This year sees many additions with the children clearly a priority with the organisers.

We are really excited to see the involvement of the National Trust - regular readers will know we spend quite some time enjoying what the National Trust has to offer.

 

 

Here's the official information about what we could get up to in the '50 things meadow' this year...

 

Create some wild art. Visit the 50 things meadow and get involved in creating a masterpiece out of the finest materials Mother Nature can provide. Experts will be holding special workshops where your kids can pick up top tips and play their part in making an amazing piece of wild art that will grow over the three days of the festival.

Climb a tree. The meadow boasts one of the largest trees on the festival site. Spend some time with our highly-skilled instructors who will teach you how to use ropes, knots, carabiners and harnesses to climb to the top of a tree. While you’re up there take a look at the view from the top over the landscaped park.

Go stargazing. For one night only we have somewhere special, away from the lights and music, where you can gather by the campfire and snuggle up in your sleeping bag, with only the blanket of the night sky above you. If you want to, you can even leave your tent at the campsite and camp out in the wild for a night. With bush craft experts Fore Adventure on hand to share stories and tips, there is no better way to get back to nature. Places are limited, with one adult/parent per child required. * NB: All teens (aged 11 to 17) MUST camp in the same area as their families with a maximum of 2 teens per adult (over the age of 26)

Age 5 -10 Weekend Ticket (inc. camping) - £20 These ticket holders must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*

Age 4 and Under Weekend Ticket (inc. camping) - FREE (but ticket still required) Age 4 and Under Weekend Tickets are for anyone aged 4 and under on 31/07/2014.
