Whilst still on a high from attending
Camp Bestival last weekend, with thousands of other family festival goers, I now look ahead to a calmer experience at Soul Circus. Challenging myself this year, and setting a few goals before I hit the magical age of 40, I'll be stepping outside of my comfort zone by attending Soul Circus alone. With the main focus of the festival being Yoga and Wellness I have a good feeling that the other 500 festival goers will be of a like-minded nature and I don't think I'll feel alone for long. That's not to say I'm not a little bit nervous though. To ease my concerns I have stream lined my usual festival packing list to make setting up camp more manageable and I have perfected the solo erecting of my tent - as long as the wind is calm! I plan to pack light; yoga leggings, crop tops and baggy vests to see me through plenty of classes and workshops and comfortable cosy yoga pants for some evening relaxation. I'll also be adding these, easy to pack, unbelievably soft organic bamboo eco, leggings and vest from
Boody to my case. They are great to pair up with brighter clothing or layer for warmth.
Soul Circus have just released their
Yoga Class Timetable and
Wellness Workshop Schedule with plenty happening each day to keep me busy. In contrast to Camp Bestival, where we struck a good balance between family fun and adult me time, at Soul Circus it is just me to think about. Going solo to a festival does have some advantages that I can see straight away; I can get up when I'm ready to, prepare my own morning cuppa and porridge without the worry of having to escort any children to the toilets, set my own agenda for the day and change plans without upsetting anyone else, eat lunch and dinner when my stomach is hungry but most importantly I can do yoga whenever I like!
On the Yoga Class Timetable there are, admittedly, things I haven't heard of but I'm up for a change and will hopefully push myself more out of my comfort zone across the weekend and seek out new adventures and challenges. I'm hoping the sun will shine as both the Sunrise and Sunset Meditation will help tick off a couple of things on my
40 before 40 list but I don't want to make too many plans with a list of must do classes; instead I will attempt to relax and go with the flow, embrace the environment and let the positive attitude within me flow, smile at strangers and strike up conversations with new people. Aside from the yoga I'm being drawn to a flower crown making workshop with Bloom and Wild and, although I am far from a girly girl and have never stepped into a spa in my life, I may venture into the
Liz Earle Spa Tipi and book myself a complimentary massage.
As day turns into night it looks like there will be a shift in focus from yoga and wellness towards food, music and maybe a few drinks - workshops that include Prosecco and gin in their titles sound good to me! High quality and healthy food appear in two bookable
Dining Experiences, included if you book a
VIP ticket, and elsewhere there will be on-site
food and drink vendors catering for a range of dietary needs.
A festival would not be complete without some music and bands from the South-West's
Fat Hat Collective will be keeping me on my toes way into the night before I head back to my well loved festival tent for some peaceful nights of sleep.

Disclaimer: I have received a weekend pass to Soul Circus 2016 in return for previews and reviews of this year's festival. Boody sent me a vest and leggings for review purposes. As always, views and opinions are my own.
