Life's simple pleasures - when you're six.

Woah, I just realised I haven't blogged for nearly two weeks.
What's up with that?
Working and tiredness I think are to blame.
Time goes too quick sometimes.
For example this one here is now six for goodness sake:

Edith chose a day out for her birthday with her best friend.
I was more than happy with this plan.
A six year old doesn't always need a huge expensive party to have a good time.
We built some lovely memories with a day out in Brokerswood, Wiltshire.
And I realised a few things...

...Life is good, particularly when the sun shines in the back garden on your big girl's birthday.

Edith loves Grandma's knitting.

You don't always have to take the obvious route...

...as demonstrated by Edith's bestie!
A picnic in the woods is one of life's simple pleasures.

As is ice cream.

Alban can finally climb unaided.

And discovered he loved the "twirly slide".

It's the simple things in life isn't it?

Catch up: sewing and cake!

It's been a bit of a bad week and general all round diet fail. I blame the husband for turning 34 and picking chocolate fudge as his birthday cake choice.
It is a little known fact that I bake the best chocolate fudge cake.
I really should share the recipe with you all.
Here's a teaser though...

I also got round to making a flower to finish off the camera strap cover for Kerry @thelovebump.
Am still hoping it all fits!

I somehow managed to get back to the sewing machine today. I found this tutorial from Fabric and Flowers and promptly got on to eBay to order some clasps. They arrived yesterday and today I made myself this...

I love bracelets in all their different forms and having a fabric one is a little bit different.
I already have an order from Edith for one!

In other news I'm looking forward to working on the revamped #pinaddicts challenge with Kerry and co.

If you aren't already doing so, follow us on Twitter @pinaddictsuk.

Have a good rest of the week people!

PAR-TAAAAAAY & CAKE!

Yesterday saw my little house bursting at the seams with eight children and seven adults.
They had come to have some party fun to celebrate Alban's fourth birthday - tomorrow is the big day.

There was cake!

Happy party day little man!

#ISpy........something beginning with T

When I first saw that this week's #ISpy letter was T the first things to jump into my head were images that I am NOT putting on this blog. I can however guarantee that someone probably has - naming no names here!
So I am keeping it clean and in fact keeping it green as this week I have recycled some images from my blog that come together to make T.
You can't actually see it, but it's there. In the pictures.

What do you think I'm spying here then?

The Gallery - The Kitchen

Where can I start with my kitchen?! Well, my kitchen is..........mmmmm....tiny. I do believe it is the smallest kitchen known to man. It measures a whopping 2m x 2.5m and there is no room for my fridge-freezer. Cooking in the kitchen is always eventful but luckily it opens up into the dining area and we spill over into there. Along with the children I have a good time in the smallest room in the house and between us we have baked some rather yummy things over the years.
So here is my entry in this week's Gallery. In spite of it's small size The Kitchen always comes up with the - baked - goods and has helped create some very happy memories.
Enjoy x x x
