At the beginning of the summer the children created a Summer Bucket List upon which was the wish to go camping at the amazing Greenacres Campsite near Pilton in Somerset. I say amazing because Greenacres takes it back to basics and above all gives the children that all important space; space to run, space to play, space to be free. I'm going to add to that - it gives the adults that all important space; space to run, space to play, space to be free and space to clear the head....
This trip gave me the added confidence that we did it alone, just me and the kiddies. We demonstrated excellent teamwork at putting up the tent...
...and I displayed remarkable composure at being stung by a wasp - twice. The husband joined us for our BBQ night where he and Alban had some all important man time cooking the sausages but the rest of the trip was just me and the kiddies. And it was perfect. We ate together and played...
We had the most amazing time doing simple things and created the best memories.
I cleared my head leaving some sadness at home and took the time to think. To make plans. To look ahead. To enjoy this precious life.

ReplyDeleteI don't know that camping site! Must follow the link. Love climbing the Tor. We used to go on the Summer Solstice. Sorry to hear about the wasp stings. We can't leave the doors open at the moment without letting them in. Am I the only one who wants to move to wherever Kath Bee lives? Enjoy your holiday in Norfolk.
